Dr. Sara Glazer is a clinical psychologist licensed in New York and New Jersey. She earned her Psy.D. at Kean University and completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship in community mental health settings.
Since 2013, Dr. Glazer has worked with individuals, couples, and families in a range of settings, including college counseling, community mental health, and psychiatric residential care. Her clinical work is grounded in a strong foundation in trauma and attachment, informed by research on how family systems, parental mental health, and the quality of early emotional bonds affect emotional development.
Her research has explored topics such as the indirect impact of collective trauma on families and the ways in which parents’ capacity to respond to children’s emotions relates to their own shame as well as their children's ability to regulate emotion.
Before opening her private practice, Dr. Glazer worked for several years at a New York City group practice, where she deepened her work in relational and emotion-focused psychotherapy, mindfulness, and hypnotherapy.
She currently sees clients in person in NYC and Hoboken, and via Telehealth for residents of New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
